Update from the FTTHC tradeshow and expo

The introduction of Curtis Anderson went off yesterday without a hitch. I got to meet Mr. Anderson before the speech, and he's a very personable fellow.

I tried to make the introduction more interesting than not so that the Hitachi part didn't overwhelm as a blatant commercial. The 30% of attendees who had survived the Las Vegas nightlife well enough to be awake at 9 in the morning were a bit of a dead audience, but they were quite appreciative of Mr. Anderson's remarks.

The highlight for me was later, on the tradeshow floor when someone approached me and said "Thanks for trying to lighten up the mood in your introduction. I thought it was great, but I don't think most people got the jokes."

In all seriousness, I looked him in the eye and said, "There weren't any jokes."

The resulting expression was priceless.
